Planet Cake Tea Party

Company Profile

Established in 1996, Planet Cake is owned by Paris & Billy Cutler and is based in a commercial kitchen operated by 10 staff located in the heart of Sydney's iconic and artistic mecca, Balmain. Planet Cake creates cakes daily for celebrations of all types including birthdays, weddings and corporate brand events. A celebrity favourite, Planet Cake has created cakes for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's wedding and Celine Dion's 40th birthday.

The Concept

When Paris Cutler contacted bubblefish, we were very excited with the project because we know that she's after something different and unique. After all that's what Planet Cake is famous for; creating one-of-a-kind artistic cakes. We believe we have met our on-par client to work with, someone that can appreciate our highly imaginative and creative ideas.

Paris needed us to be the artist behind her 'Social Networking Site for Cake Decorators'. Initially the site is going to be called Planet Cake member's lounge, however after meeting with her and knowing how far she's willing to go in terms of creativity, we know we had to go another step in terms of the idea behind the concept. Therefore, bubblefish believe the name of the site should represent the fun ideas we'll be presenting to the website; and the name Planet Cake Tea Party was chosen.

The colour scheme of the website is to follow their branding colour of chocolate brown and pastel pink but we've used it in a much more cartoony feel to represent paris' passion of the japanese manga.

Knowing Paris's high affinity for japanese manga, we also offer to create another face of Planet Cake to be launched at the same time as the tea party site to tie an even more stronger concept towards the Planet Cake brand; a fashionable and edgy girl named Perry Cherie.

Our Goal

What we want to achieve from the website creation is for the audience to experience a colourful and imaginative place, a place where anything and everything is possible. We want the audience to imagine being invited by Perry Cherie to her fun tea party.
